This is Matthew.
He lives about 3km away from Ellis Park, in one of the toughest parts of Hillbrow, yet he never misses one of our tennis clinics.
“Tennis gives me an escape,” he told us once. And he meant it.
Thanks to our recent BackaBuddy shoe campaign and the incredible support of our tennis community – we cannot thank you enough - we raised enough to buy 15 pairs of tennis shoes for next year.
But here’s the twist:
We’re not simply giving them away.
Kids who show exceptional commitment or improvement will earn the exclusive use of a pair next year.
Kids like Matthew.
Because effort matters.
